Journey Of Faith Fellowship Leadership

Journey Of Faith Fellowship is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Matthew and Julie Weller

Leadership Team Members

Matthew and Julie have been married since 2013 and were married on the beach in Top Sail, North Carolina with a close circle of family and friends. They have spent the last seven years making South Charleston our community of friends, neighbors and church family. Matthew is a nurse at Madison Correctional and Julie is a nurse practitioner at Anesthesia Pain and Spine Center. We both try to minister to our patients as part of taking care of their health. Our children are involved in CHAOS youth group and Sunday School as well as Journey's "Big Creek" missions trip. This is our first year on the Leadership Team and we are looking forward to being stewards for our Journey of Faith family.

Neil & Janine Sheaffer

Leadership Team Members

Neil and Janine both hail from Pennsylvania, but met each other in Ohio. Neil completed a career in the U.S. Air Force and moved to the area in 2005. Janine has lived in central Ohio since graduating from college in 1983. Married since 2010, they share five adult children and two grandchildren. They are new to Journey of Faith Fellowship having arrived at Journey in 2020 and became covenant members shortly afterwards. They were most recently active at another area church where they filled several ministry roles over their years of participation. Neil grew up in the church, but never developed a deep understanding of the gospel or what it really meant to be a disciple of Christ. It wasn't until attending Journey that Neil was challenged to pray, learn and grow! Janine cannot recall a time in her life that she didn't know that Jesus was Lord. While growing up in the Lutheran church she was blessed with parents who were involved in the Charismatic movement in the 70's.  This is when she had her first experiences with the Holy Spirit. It has been in the last twenty two (22) years that the Lord has called her into a deeper relationship with Him. Neil and Janine have servant's hearts and enjoy giving their time and talents to support ministries. This is their first time to serve on the Leadership Team.

Dave & Rachel Thompson

Leadership Team Members

Dave & Rachel Thompson began attending Journey of Faith Fellowship in 2019 and became covenant members in 2020. Dave works in the building industry and uses his talents to serve through construction projects and outreach ministry. Rachel is an elementary school teacher and serves by helping in Journey Kids, the nursery and substitute teaching  for the youth groups. They are looking forward to participating on the Leadership Team. The Thompson family endured several "church traumas" in the past and though they never lost ther faith in the Lord, they lost the ability to feel comfortable in church settings. Journey has  provided not only a church family with whom to fellowship, but a safe, comforting place in which to feel God's precence, worship, pray and learn more about God's Word. In their free time they love spending time with their daughter and two sons.

Chase and Shelby Brown

Leadership Team Members

Chase and Shelby met in 2016 while in high school. They were married in June of 2021. They have two huskies, Myah and Rue whom they adore. Shelby started attending Journey of Faith Fellowship in the summer of 2016 and Chase joined her in the fall of 2016.

Shelby is working on her bachelor's degree in Special Education at Wright State University. She plans to graduate in the spring of 2024 and currently works in childcare. She was a part of Journey of Faith Fellowship Missions Team trip to Zambia in 2017, 2018 and 2019. She also serves as a helper in the Journey Kids program on Sunday mornings. Growing up Shelby experienced being hurt by the "church" and is grateful to Journey of Faith Fellowship for welcoming her broken, scarred heart with open arms. Journey of Faith Fellowship is where she has been able to grow and learn without fear of judgement for which she will be forever grateful!!

Chase is currently an apprentice for an HVAC company. He is a part of the sound and video technical team at Journey of Faith Fellowship and helps with the Journey Kids program on Sunday mornings. He has also helped with a variety of building projects at the Ministry Center. He was a part of Journey of Faith Fellowship Missions Team trip to Zambia in 2018 and 2019. Chase went to church occasionally as a child, but never had a real relationship with the Lord. He is thankful to the men of Journey of Faith Fellowship who took him "under their wings" and taught him and continue to teach him how to be a man, husband and how to have a real relationship with the Lord!
